Paleo and Crossfit Day 1 of 90 – MyCrossFat.com

9 Months ago I made a promise. I would stick to weight loss this year. No matter what, I wanted to weigh less than I did on January 1st 2017. So far, that goal is achievable.

A few months ago, I made another promise.  I, the 300lb Blogger would attend a crossfit class. With all of the hype surrounding it and the “Success” stories that filled the internet, It was no doubt I would try it some day.

A few weeks ago, I made ANOTHER promise. I would commit 90 days to Eating Paleo, and going to Crossfit classes. My good buddy Charlie fully endorsed this. I had been looking around for Crossfit Gyms in my area, with a few criterias in mind. Location/Proximity to work, and monthly price. I was fortunate to find a gym in my area that was running a 3 month commitment price of $99 per month. While I usually avoid places/things that require a “commitment” this one appealed to me for a few reasons. It was on average 30-50 bucks cheaper a month, AND the “commitment” was the same time frame as my 90 day commitment. So here goes nothing!

 

WHAT I’M EATING:

Breakfast: 4 eggs (whole) and an Apple.

Snack 1: Handful of sunflower seeds and almonds, 1/2 of a bell pepper.

Lunch: 7 oz of Crock Pot Cooked chicken, 4 oz of Sweet potato, 1 cup of Broccoli

Snack 2: 1 Pouch of Tuna, 1 Orange (Orange depending on mood)

Snack 3: 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds, 1 scoop of Protein Powder (25g of Protein), 1 scoop of Creatine, 1 Banana.

Dinner: Chicken breast (Grilled) and Asparagus.

It comes out to about 2000-2100 calories (not that it matters with paleo)

 

Workout of the Day

911 – Memorial WOD (Time)

For Time:
Row 2001 meters
Then 11 reps of the following:
Box Jumps (36″/24″)
Thrusters (#125/85)
Burpee Chest to Bar Pull-ups
Power Cleans (#175/120)
Handstand Push-ups
Kettlebell Swings (#70/53)
Toes to Bar
Deadlifts (#170/120)
Push Jerk (#110/75)
Row (or Run) 2001 meters

The workout itself is completely symbolic of 9/11. The 2001 meter row represents the year the attack took place. The 11 reps of 9 exercises represents the date (9/11). Even the weights have meaning.
The 125 pound thrusters represents the number of deaths that occurred at the Pentagon. The 175 pound power clean symbolizes the AA Flight 175 that hit the South Tower. The 170 pound deadlift is symbolic of Flight 77 and Flight 93 combined. And the 110 pound push jerk represents the number of floors in each tower of the World Trade Center.
